How to save energy – energy consumption

What consumes the most electricity?

How much electricity we use depends on many factors. These include our individual habits, lifestyle, the number and age of electrical appliances, the condition of the electrical installation, the number of people in the household.

On average, we consume about 2000 kWh of electricity per year per household. You can easily check if you are in this average.

First of all, calculate the average annual electricity consumption of the appliances in your home.

Use the following data for this purpose:

electric stove

1 person – 195 kWh
2 persons – 390 kWh
3 persons – 445 kWh
4 persons – 575 kWh

fridge

1 person – 280 kWh
2 persons – 310 kWh
3 persons – 330 kWh
4 persons – 355 kWh

washing machine

1 person – 70 kWh
2 persons – 125 kWh
3 persons – 200 kWh
4 persons – 265 kWh

hairdryer

1 person – 125 kWh
2 persons – 225 kWh
3 persons – 325 kWh
4 persons – 465 kWh

freezer

1 person – 305 kWh
2 persons – 350 kWh
3 persons – 415 kWh
4 persons – 420 kWh

dishwasher

1 person – 120 kWh
2 persons – 200 kWh
3 persons – 245 kWh
4 persons – 325 kWh

light

1 person – 195 kWh
2 persons – 285 kWh
3 persons – 330 kWh
4 persons – 435 kWh

warm water

1 person – 715 kWh
2 persons – 1075 kWh
3 persons – 1425 kWh
4 persons – 1805 kWh

TV

1 person – 120 kWh
2 persons – 150 kWh
3 persons – 190 kWh
4 persons – 205 kWh

others

1 person – 260 kWh
2 persons – 450 kWh
3 persons – 630 kWh
4 persons – 690 kWh

Then compare the calculated values with the amount of energy you actually consume per year. The amount of energy consumed can be found on your electricity invoices.

The electrical appliances that consume the most energy in our home …
