Best CMS for SEO
A few remarks and tips to help you search for a CMS class system friendly for the subsequent positioning of the service based on it.
Choosing a CMS system is not an easy matter. Especially when the website, which is to be managed by means of it, will contain highly competitive content. If you want to succeed in any industry, you should think about the future and carefully consider whether your website will be positioned.
At the moment it is hard to imagine it could be otherwise (I don’t take into account paid box solutions). CMS system should have not only purely functional advantages, but also, and perhaps above all, should provide the possibility of free implementation of SEO activities.
Individual topics that I will not address will not be taken in order from “the most important to the least important”, so please do not suggest it.
Variable tags: “title”, “keywords”, “decription”.
Placing these tags is not a critical element of every website, but they undoubtedly have a positive impact on the positioning process, so it is worth introducing them. The best solution is to place these tags on each subpage of the website and make sure that they are diverse. Ideally, for each subpage the content of these tags would be entered individually.
However, in reality (especially in very complex services) the number of subpages makes it impossible or at least very difficult to perform this procedure. The best solution for this case are CMS systems, which allow you to enter these tags, but also ensure the inheritance of descriptions. That is, when we enter the content of tags for a given category, all subpages in it receive the same description. Thanks to this, we can partially differentiate these tags, depending on the time we have at our disposal.
File names, categories and link symbols.
Most search engines (and certainly the most popular ones) draw attention to the words contained e.g. in the file name. So it is a good idea to include keywords beneficial for you, if you can change the name of the file manually, e.g. the link symbol is not always. Often CMS systems generate a link symbol automatically based on the title of the subpage. Even if they do it automatically, there are better and worse solutions.
Let’s consider the simplest case. We are dealing with an Internet shop in which there is a subpage “About the shop”. There can be no space in the link symbol, so the CMS system automatically generating the link must use some sort of separator. It is best when it is “-” and not “_” for example. The reason is simple “-” is read by indexing robots as a space, and “_” as a hyphen. Therefore, in the name of the category under consideration, in the first case the search engine will see “about the shop” and in the second case “the shop”. In addition, it is good that the CMS guarantees the possibility of giving the subpage a symbol completely different from the name.
This is a very important advantage of the CMS system. The rule is simple – the less source code the better. This affects the speed of indexing subpages, which is not insignificant for SEO. If the content management system builds a website on frames, I personally advise you to give it up right away.
Very important. Keywords contained in them are very important and very measurable benefits are brought by placing e.g. the title of subpages in these tags. However, it is good if CMS allows us to use these tags in places of our choice. It is definitely unfavorable to format any graphic elements using them. You should also remember not to overdo them with their number.
Good internal linking
That is quite a broad subject. I will only mention two issues here. It is highly advisable to place a link to the homepage on each subpage of the website. This ensures its consistency and improves navigation (not only for users). The second essential element of any website, regardless of its size, is a map of the website. It is a kind of starting point. It is a structure of the website, which makes it much easier to reach all subpages of the website.
