Almond milk has many advantages. Above all – which is important for allergy sufferers – unlike cow’s milk it does not contain lactose, so people with allergies or food intolerance to this sugar can drink it freely. It also does not contain cholesterol, which is important for people struggling with hypertension, cardiovascular and heart diseases, and simply for obese people.
It also does not contain casein, which is a hard-to-digestible protein found in cow’s milk. It is casein that is one of the most controversial components of cow’s milk, accused of causing osteoporosis, heart diseases and many other human diseases.
Almond milk also contains less sugars and carbohydrates than traditional cow’s milk. Therefore, it can also be used in the diet of people with diabetes – without any fear or doubt. Not only does almond milk not contain elements that are considered to be of doubtful value in cow’s milk, but it even contributes to improving health, thanks to the other valuable ingredients it contains. Almond milk – health benefits
Almond milk can be a valuable component of the diet – among others for people who care about proper nutrition and want to keep a slim figure. A glass of unsweetened milk has only 30 calories – and how many vitamins and minerals! Cow’s milk is much fatter and more calorific – almond milk is light but filling. It will satisfy hunger for some time, but at the same time it will not make you feel sluggish and deprived of energy – it is a delicious drink for active people!

Almond milk – how to prepare it yourself?
To prepare almond milk, you don’t need a lot of effort and ingredients. You only need about 150 grams of almonds (a glass) and 4 glasses of water. As far as almonds are concerned, it would be best if they were whole, raw and undried. It is best to prepare milk at home, because when buying it in the shop we have to take into account the consumption of many additives – whether they are sweeteners or preservatives. All these additives reduce its health benefits – after all, it is about drinking healthy, fresh milk and not another chemistry!
Almond milk can be prepared by buying almonds in the skin – just pour boiling water over them, leave them for 10 minutes, and then wash them with cold water so that the skin can easily go away. Then pour water over the almonds and leave them there for the night to soften. The next morning, strain the almonds and place them in a blender. Pour 4 glasses of water – preferably spring water or boiled tap water – and mix for about 8-10 minutes. After this time, strain the milk from the remains of the almonds using a folded gauze or a clean teter diaper. The remaining almond pulp can be used to make the milk again, in which case we repeat the whole process. Just remember that the finished milk can be stored in the fridge for a maximum of 2 days.
